Honoring Pride Month and Susan MacNeil

We lost our wonderful board member Susan MacNeil early in 2026. Susan was a tireless advocate for all things “Pride” and “Bellows Falls” related, and, as she helped the Diner project in both the grant writing and fundraising realms, we can hear her admonishing us to not rest on our laurels, as it were. Yes, we shot past our goal of raising $5,000.00 to endow a Susan MacNeil stool at the diner ($5,969.00 raised, to be exact), but we hear Susan saying why not make an annual June appeal to raise $15,000.00 to endow the Susan MacNeil Bellows Falls Pride Booth? Alright, Susan, you’re on!
DINER UPDATE
The State Moves Slow, But We’re Preparing for the Big Move Nonetheless…
We have selected the Construction Management team for the actual diner restoration and site preparation, and plan to move the diner offsite once we finally get the okay of our plans from the State Office of Historic Preservation. We will be meeting soon with the Town to make sure we have all our “i”’s dotted and “t”’s crossed. At the upcoming Diner Dinner we should know more, and will fill you in on all the details….
SPEAKING OF WHICH…..
Diner Dinner August 15: Pulled Pork Dinner

Thanks to Wikimedia Commons and photographer Christian Geischeder for this photo of succulent pulled pork. Yes, this is not the actual pulled pork that will be served (the actual food hasn’t been cooked yet, thank goodness).
Rockingham for Progress and Bellows Falls Moose Lodge #527 invite you to the second 2026 Diner Dinner on Saturday, August 15. Chef Aime Theroux promises a classic summer barbeque dinner of pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad and cole slaw. Before the dinner, the Miss Bellows Falls team will bring you up to speed on all the news and latest developments. Keep our fingers crossed!
Default meal option is Omnivore; if Vegetarian option is desired, please specify at time of purchase (it’s a toggle on the order form). Tasty beverages available from the Moose bar. A good time will almost assuredly be had by all, and we absolutely guarantee you won’t be leaving hungry!
