2026 Diner Dinner #1 Smashing Success

Dearest ,

The first Diner Dinner of 2026 was a huge success. We had a full house at Moose Lodge #527, where folks were treated to a delicious "Breakfast for Dinner" menu of eggs, homefries, bacon, sausage, home-made corned beef hash, and two kinds of pancakes with 100% real Vermont maple syrup.... nobody left hungry, that's for sure. What's more, in honor of our late director Susan MacNeil, the Moose donated all the food - allowing us to put the full $2,700 raised toward diner restoration efforts. In this photo, way up at the front, Project Manager Andrew Dey brings everybody up to speed on the latest.

Project Manager Dey, with RFP Board members Jeff Dunbar and Charlie Hunter, will be interviewing contractors this week and next, in anticipation of their beginning work on diner car restoration later this year.

MacNeil Diner Stool Needs One More Spin…

An anonymous donor has pledged up to $2,500 if we can match that amount in individual donations. We are sooooo close - just $175.00 to go to get us over the finish line. Can you step up and give the diner stool one more spin?

Susan MacNeil loved the idea of community as exemplified by the Miss Bellows Falls Diner; she organized our Diner Dinners at the Moose Lodge, she helped us with grant writing, and overseeing the paperwork - a crucial step in getting the funds in hand once a grant has been approved. She was our secretary and kept the minutes at our meetings. She was the best.

Help us endow a Susan MacNeil stool at the Miss Bellows Falls. She'd like that a lot.

An anonymous donor has pledged up to $2,500 if we can match that amount in individual donations. Each donation is 100% tax deductible (Rockingham For Progress is a volunteer 501-c-3 charitable organization, EIN 81-1204719).

Mark your calendars now - Diner Dinner on Saturday, August 15… Rockingham for Progress and Bellows Falls Moose Lodge #527 invite you to the second 2026 Diner Dinner. Chef Aime Theroux promises a classic summer barbeque dinner of pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad and cole slaw.
